President and Owner, Tom Johnson, has been building custom designed swimming pools in the Austin area for over 40 years.  His pool building career began in 1965 as a construction worker for Centex Pools.  During the course of his employment with Centex he worked his way up through the company and eventually assumed co-ownership and the presidency.

   When Centex Pools disbanded during the recession in the 1980's, Tom immediately formulated plans to start his own company.  Together with his wife, Lynda, they founded Johnson Custom Pools, launching a very successful pool construction business.  In 1990, Tom's son, Craig, joined the company to work in the area of design and sales.  He was named Vice President when they incorporated as Central Texas Waterscapes, Inc.  Tom’s youngest son, Ryan, was brought on in 2008 to manage the pool service side of the business.   You can find more information on our Pool Service page.     

   The success behind Johnson Custom Pools can be attributed to its remaining a family business, which ensures personal attention to detail for each customer.  The company has employed the same family of construction crew members that began working with Tom in the 1980's.  This crew, Tom, Lynda, Craig,his wife, Melinda, and Ryan all work together to maintain a high level of expertise and professionalism.  

   As evidenced above, Johnson Custom Pools incorporates a vast amount of experience in both management and construction.  This is why we are able to stand by our motto,
